Revista Time Magazine a publicat astăzi un articol dedicat Timișoarei, în contextul Capitalei Culturale Europene.
“Romania’s fourth largest city and capital of the Banat historical province is shining its light in 2023—quite literally—as it picks up the baton as European Capital of Culture. The first city on mainland Europe to introduce electric street lighting in 1884 is celebrating with a wealth of concerts, exhibits, and festivals under the slogan “Light up your city!” A vertical, illuminated garden by Barcelona-based MAIO Architects will grace Victory Square, where, in 1989, the sparks of the Revolution ignited against Ceausescu’s regime“, se arată în articol.
Primarul Dominic Fritz a comentat apariția editorială și se declară mândru că orașul a ajuns între principalele destinații turistice din lume.
“Timișoara a ajuns oficial în topul celor mai grozave locuri din lume, întocmit pentru anul 2023 de legendara revistă Time Magazine. Se află pe această listă alături de orașe precum Barcelona, Napoli, Washington DC sau destinații precum stațiunea de schi St. Moritz sau Parcul Național Yosemite. Ca timișoreni suntem mândri că orașul nostru a ajuns pe această listă selectă și ne bucurăm să reprezentăm o parte din România frumoasă pe scena internațională“, a declarat Dominic Fritz.
Prestigioasa revistă consideră că Timișoara are o țesătură multietnică, presărata cu arhitectura ornamentată secesionistă și în stil vienez.
